Frequently Asked Questions:

Should I remove ear wax?

Your body naturally cleans your ears for you, so no routine maintenance is required. However, if your body produces too much earwax, it might impact your hearing. If this happens, it’s important to get it checked right away to prevent further issues to your health.

There isn’t a set recommended frequency for earwax removal, as it depends on each individual case. Some people don’t require earwax removal very often, whereas others produce vast amounts of earwax at a faster rate.

If excess ear wax is not removed, it can lead to a build-up of impacted earwax. This can cause symptoms including ear pain, a ‘full ear’ sensation, or even a cough.

Professional ear cleaning is quick and painless. Your ears will be cleaned throughout the operation, and an audiologist will use safe and efficient methods and equipment to break down and remove the hardened wax. You’ll hardly feel anything at all.

Some patients may experience temporary dizziness. There’s a very small risk of infection or minor damage to the ear canal, which is why it’s important to follow all aftercare instructions provided by our specialists.
